About the role
As our Education Project Manager, you’ll help us create SRL StoryMaker from the bottom up. First, you’ll work with our leadership to write the StoryMaker RFP and identify the best development partners. Then, you’ll work with our existing Teacher Advisory Panel to ensure educator input and ideas result in the best user experience and educational outcomes possible. StoryMaker is a tool designed to scale the very successful SRL model. In addition to standing up StoryMaker, you’ll also facilitate National Science Foundation grant research into STEM learning, online learning communities, co-learning environments, and teacher supports.
This position is grant funded for 36 months. Continuing employment is subject to performance and availability of grant funds.
Your first 90 days
You’ll get to know your team and the wider organization, and how each group functions independently as well as part of the whole. You’ll earn the leadership team’s trust to be a spokesperson for the SRL project. You’ll be on track to becoming an expert when it comes to SRL StoryMaker.

You thrive in a start-up like atmosphere, bringing vibrancy and terrific ideas to meetings. You’ve connected with not only the SRL team, but with others throughout the NewsHour, as well as the student media, public broadcasting and education fields. You’ve earned trust and are commended for your ability to communicate the importance of student voice and journalism. You have built relationships to get the job done.
- A track record of managing successful education projects.
- Experience building digital curriculum and community.
- Sophisticated understanding of education and journalism fields.
- A college degree and 3 years’ experience in education or digital media project management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
