The RMPBS KIDS manager will bring passion, early childhood experience and connections to RMPM and its early childhood development and education initiative. In many situations, this person will be the face of the initiative and will lead collaborative projects and efforts which enable parents and caregivers to see themselves in our work, feel empowered in their lives with young children, and view RMPM as Colorado's trusted one-stop-shop for EC entertainment, local resources, information, stories, activities, and engagements. This position will not be creating original EC content but will support in its curation and distribution.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for coordination of cross-departmental early childhood (EC) efforts including communication and updates, creating initiative systems which support its three initial major priorities (curating EC content for RMPBS KIDS newsletter, crafting key messages with EC partners' assistance, and RMPBS KIDS events and community engagement around the state) as well as the implementation of the overall EC strategic plan.
  • Responsible to attend or facilitate meetings which listen to and engage state-level EC leaders, partners, and FFN caregivers and then make suggestions to EC supervisor (and RMPM leadership when appropriate) as to how we can and should engage our target audience(s) as an organization.
  • Responsible for management and fulfillment of certain corporate and community partnership agreements which could entail engagement/event support, reporting and communications. Also required is outreach to new and potential EC partners.
  • Responsible to read/consume PBS KIDS (national), RMPBS EC content, and key EC reports so as to be the go-to RMPM EC resource who can propose how we curate and share different types of content with various audiences.
  • Actively participates in RMPM's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training program. Uses key standards and teachings of DEI training in day-to-day work.
  • Other tasks as assigned and/or required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five plus years' experience in the early childhood care or education system.

  • Must be able to work both independently and as a collaborative and productive team member.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally and productively with persons at all levels.
  • Must possess exceptional time management, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented with an ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work within established budgets.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable MVR.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position works primarily in office and/or community environments. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule with occasionally long hours including some evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel throughout the state and beyond, on occasion.
