Job Description:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Continually monitor the market and conduct research to identify and solicit new business;
build and maintains a full pipeline of sales prospects.
Service and grow relationships in existing base of clients by maintaining frequent contact
and providing excellent customer service.
Identify client/agency needs and develop persuasive proposals to meet needs and
opportunities based on market, platform and station information.
Deliver effective sales presentations.
Collaborate with clients to craft acceptable copy and deliver to Traffic Department.
Generate revenue and meet/exceed established sales targets.
Work collaboratively with internal partners to develop and implement revenue
opportunities.
Help to ensure prompt payment by clients.
Follow all station procedures for preparing orders and resolving billing issues.
Submit regular reports regarding sales, pipeline lists, forecasts and competitive analysis.
Fulfill administrative obligations, including entering client information into database,
maintaining contact with and keeping the Vice President, Corporate Support informed
about activities, keeping appropriate files and submitting timely expense reports.
Participate appropriately in station fundraising and sponsorship activities and live events.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A passion for the mission of public radio.
Self-motivated, with a “willing spirit” and the ability to work efficiently with limited
direct supervision.
Demonstrated professionalism and personal relationship skills, including the ability to
work well with other team members.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work
effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Able to work extended hours as needed, sometimes on short notice.
Must have a valid standard Class C driver’s license, transportation and the ability to
travel on short notice.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three years sales experience is required. Media sales experience, particularly digital
media sales experience, is strongly preferred. Must have a proven track record of excellent
customer service, growing new business and achieving sales targets.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Finger Dexterity: Using fingers to make small movements such as typing or picking
up small objects.
Talking: Frequently conveying information, instructions, and ideas clearly and
quickly.
Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations, in person or by phone.
Repetitive Motions: Frequently and regularly using the wrists, hands and fingers.
Visual: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect
documents or other materials.
Physical: Ability to travel. May have to lift papers, books, equipment and other
items weighing up to 20 lbs.
