Job Description:

Vermont Public is seeking a Broadcast Engineer – Transmitter as part of our internal service group, helping us deliver awesome content to the region. Desired start date is late May 2023.

Who Should Apply?
At least 3 years of relevant experience in transmitter maintenance or related technical fields. Associate degree or comparable formal training in electrical or computer-related study, SBE (Society of Broadcast Engineers) certification, or licensed amateur radio operator desired but not required. Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills are required. The ability to work alone at isolated transmitter sites, as well as the ability to work with listeners, vendors, contractors, and regulators, is required. Must hold a valid driver’s license to drive on various work sites. Candidates will be expected to have a high level of commitment and dedication to the mission of the organization and public media. Must be able to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with co-workers and audience, supporting and enhancing a culture of belonging as well as preserving confidentiality appropriately.
Details:
This is a full-time non-exempt hourly Bargaining Union position; compensation starts at $36.47 hourly, commensurate with experience.
