WEKU, a nine-station public radio network based in Richmond, Kentucky has an opening for a full time news reporter.  The Health Reporter will work as a member of the Ohio Valley ReSource Collaborative and the WEKU news team.

The OVR is an award-winning collaborative journalism team that covers key health, economic and environmental stories in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.

We are looking for a journalist who understands the growing need for health reporting in Appalachia, and enjoys writing, reporting and producing sound-rich features, interviews and short-form content.

WEKU is a leading public radio organization recently winning 3 regional Murrow awards.  We are also proud to be the number one ranked radio news station serving the Lexington market.  And the number one station overall in specific dayparts.

This position does require some travel to cover stories in the region however it is considered a primarily remote position.

WEKU provides all news staff a laptop computer, digital recorder, and all equipment and software you need to create award-winning content and cover a brand new beat that requires increased coverage.

You should have at least two years of journalism experience and have a passion for the mission of public radio service.  A college degree is required.
