Job Description:
WESM is seeking a Music Director. This person will host a daily jazz music program, track music with promoters, audition new releases and acquire music for the library, ensure compliance with Music Rights agreements, produce timely features and interviews and assist with station production needs.
Skills required: on-air hosting, interviewing and fundraising, audio production, basic computer skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
Experience required: BA or BS degree. Must have knowledge of Jazz music, three years professional on-air radio experience. Knowledge of ENCO automation is a plus.
WESM is part of a three-station collaboration between the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Salisbury University. WESM is located at UMES, WSCL and WSDL are located at Salisbury University. WESM continues a thirty six year commitment to broadcasting Jazz (and other genres) to the Delmarva Peninsula. Our coverage area includes the eastern shore of Maryland, Delaware, northern Virginia, and Cape May New Jersey
