Position Summary:


The Leadership Circle Giving Specialist is tasked with growing KPCC's Leadership Circle, which includes donors giving at the $1,500 through the $10,000 levels. Utilizing direct mail, digital giving, events and personal solicitations, the Leadership Circle Giving Specialist works with other members of the Membership team to plan and implement projects to achieve annual goals.


The Leadership Circle Giving Specialist, along with other members of the Membership team, works to bridge the gap between Membership and Leadership Circle donors, helping to move donors through the fundraising pipeline while supporting the overall Membership and Leadership circle strategies.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Membership and Leadership Circle Manager, implement monthly renewals, annual fund appeals and engagement communications that both compliments and integrates with the overall Membership strategy.
  • Ensure results by following up on renewals and solicitations, event invitations and other offers by emailing or calling donors.
  • Welcome new members of the Leadership Circle.
  • Cultivate and Steward Leadership Circle supporters for increased support and additional gifts; via direct mail, email, over the phone or during face-to-face meetings.
  • Assist in identifying potential Major Giving prospects and work with the Major Giving team on select annual renewals.
  • Track and update information in Salesforce.
  • Develop and support the production of regular communications, such as the Leadership Circle newsletter, breaking news, special events, organization announcements and the Leadership Circle magazine.
  • Handle phone calls and questions from the constituents.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and fulfillment of Leadership Circle donor benefits.
  • Develop a strategy for donor communications, including event scripts, proposals, renewal and acknowledgement letters and website copy.
  • Encourage, gather and produce donor testimonials; recommend donors to profile on-air, in the Annual Report and other publications, and at donor events.
  • Coordinate donor intelligence surveys to refine the Leadership Circle program, gather feedback on events, etc. to gain donor insights.
  • Manage the Leadership Circle events calendar and work with the Special Events Manager on Leadership Circle events.
  • Work at all Development department events.
  • Other duties as required.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in an annual giving program.
  • Experience in contacting donors and/or customer service.
  • Experience in producing written donor communications.
  • Experience with donor relationship management tools.


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Annual fund and/or major gift experience.
  • Experience in donor research and profile development.
  • Experience using Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar email marketing service.
  • Experience working with the public in an external capacity.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar customer/donor relationship management system.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft-based software.

  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Physical Demands: 
    • Required to occasionally move about in an office environment to access file cabinets, printers, etc., and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
    • Frequent use of hands for data entry/keystrokes and simple grasping.  
  • Working Conditions: 
    • Moderate noise level
