Job Description:

Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Production Services Department is hiring a TV Operations Manager who will work to coordinate the scheduling of staff and equipment preparation for events; studio and remote location preparations and assist in the scheduling of studio and remote work for television, digital, radio and education service productions. The TV Operation Manager reports to the Director of Operations.

Candidate Responsibilities:
● Works directly with Director of Operations in scheduling work for staff and crew members and arranges for substitute staff as needed.
● Acts as liaison between the creative, technical, and logistical aspects of program productions and provides technical assistance as needed.
● Coordinates the use of all television production facilities for internal and external clients and adjusts schedules to ensure the most efficient and effective use of facilities and scheduled crew members.
● Provides input and long-term planning regarding facilities and personnel.
● Develops prospective clients and maintains records of production activity.
● Recommends and evaluates production equipment purchases and provides billing information to the Finance and Procurement Office as required.
● Works with Director of Operations in responding to production requests for information from clients, producers, staff, and senior management and attends various meetings, conferences as assigned.
● Prepares, reviews, and composes correspondence, letters, memoranda, etc. and completes forms, requests, logs, records, reports, and documents associated with daily responsibilities of this position.
● Works with management to oversee studio and shop safety programs and activities.
● Performs flexible assignments and administrative tasks such as remote surveys, renting outside equipment and facilities; and other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering, Television Production, Communications, or related field required;
● At least five years of combined progressively supervisory experience in television production and broadcasting or a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
● Weekend work will be necessary, thus candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends, on occasion.
● Must possess a valid driver’s license.
