Produce stories for weekly news magazine program, produce documentaries, produce other weekly programs as needed, fill in as host on news and public affairs programs as needed and assist in other production tasks as needed.
Work independently under the direction of the executive producer to perform all tasks as needed both behind the scenes and in front of the camera.
Find, set up, shoot, write, voice and edit stories for weekly news magazine program Positively Kansas, veteran profiles for Veterans Coming Home filler segments, and perform similar multitasking for other productions as well.
Brainstorm ideas for, and set up, shoot, write, voice and edit 30 and 60-minute documentaries which hold promise for high viewer enthusiasm and significant sponsorship potential.
Assist executive producer, as needed, in writing and producing scripts for weekly programs including One on One, Hatteberg’s People, Kansas Week, Call the Mayor and any future programs that may come.
Fill in as producer and on-air host for any and all local programs as needed.
Produce social media posts, as needed, to promote local programs.
Assist in any other production task should the need arise.
Drive personal vehicle on shoots and receive mileage reimbursement.
10 years of experience reporting, producing, shooting and editing in a large or mid-market commercial television station.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to carry camera equipment.
Proficiency at video editing.
Proficiency at shooting video including your own standups.
Familiarity and knowledge of the Wichita-Hutchinson television market.
Enthusiasm and passion for creating valuable, informative and entertaining television for the people of Kansas.
