Intern, Production

You will support studio and field production by working directly with Technical Directors to accomplish the logistics of production. This includes studio recording sessions on The Current and Classical, live events across multiple content areas including Water Main and Call to Mind, and video production support.

 

Key Learning Goals:

You will have exposure to all aspects of production planning and execution. Opportunities will exist to developed specific skills related to advance coordination with artists, equipment setup and configuration, signal flow and equipment technical support and configuration, face to face interaction with artists and artist management, and postproduction and distribution systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prep, setup, and strike equipment for recording sessions and live events.
  • Work with artists to loading equipment and navigate the building/venue.
  • Support production staff before, during, and after sessions and events as needed.
  • Operate equipment for specific tasks including assistant audio engineer and camera operator (training provided).

Required Qualifications:

  • Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors in an undergraduate or Master's program OR have earned a degree within the last 12 months.
  • Classes or strong experience with audio or video equipment, including microphones, analog and digital processing, studio/venue systems, and stage setup.
  • Background in music, including familiarity with several music genres.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience working in studios or performance spaces.
  • Familiarity with professional audio/video equipment and standard cabling types and uses.
  • Ability to learn while doing. This is a working position and interns will be expected to move equipment and work side by side with Technical Directors under deadline.
  • Professionalism is required, this is not a backstage pass or access to your favorite band on tour.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Field or Studio audio production experience.
  • Video production work using professional equipment.
  • Experience working with artists and artist management.
