Are you looking for a change in 2019? Apply to be WBAA’s next reporter!
We’re looking for an engaging, curious, driven journalist who also exhibits:
- Ethical news judgment
- Passion for local news that tells stories listeners can’t find elsewhere
- A cooperative spirit that helps the whole station succeed and serve the community
In just the last three years, the WBAA news team has won Edward R. Murrow awards, national first-place trophies from Public Radio News Directors Incorporated and many awards from the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists for our work. We foster an atmosphere that prizes quality-before-quantity journalism over “feeding the beast.”
The Greater Lafayette area is an inexpensive, welcoming place to settle and enjoy working in public radio. We’ve got great local amenities (the largest pinball arcade in Indiana, Big Ten college sports, three different farmer’s markets) and we’re also just a short distance from both Chicago and Indianapolis (via highway or Amtrak).
The salary range starts at $40,200 and goes up from there, depending on experience and qualifications. On top of that, you get great Purdue University benefits, too (retirement plan with University match, 22 paid days off per year, health insurance with free dental coverage and more).
We’re starting interviews as soon as possible, so don’t delay!
