Job Description:

The Environmental Multimedia Reporter will be responsible for reporting and producing web-based stories & segments, as well as broadcast audio segments (as assigned), focused on news related to the environment - including stories about ecology, energy, environmental health/justice, and climate change - in the greater Boston area and in New England. The reporting will be for both online and on air. The Multimedia Reporter's duties will include, but are not limited to: gathering sound for radio stories, working with an editor to prepare them for air, voicing stories on air, and also writing stories for the web, finding digital assets, and making creative use of photos, videos, maps and graphics, as appropriate. This reporter will also contribute to the environmental vertical's outreach efforts and social media platforms. The reporter must be comfortable discussing and explaining often-complex science, and will be expected to develop sources in the scientific, political and environmental communities to enable reporting that offers both context and analysis. The reporter will collaborate closely with the other members of WBUR's environmental team: the Senior Producing Editor and the Senior Reporter.
