WETA, the second-largest station producer of content for the public television system is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer, Radio. Key responsibilities include performing maintenance and repair to audio equipment in all radio studios and control rooms, assisting the Chief Engineer in the maintenance and repair of all transmitter sites, and remote transmission links and in the design and implementation of audio workflows, including podcast recording and music library digitization. The Assistant Chief Engineer will be on call at all times and responds to technical emergencies in the event that the Chief Engineer is unavailable. He/she will fill in for the Chief Engineer during absences and serve as the second operator and emergency contact during overnight, unattended broadcast operation.
Associate’s degree, or higher, in electronic technology, computer repair and maintenance, electronic maintenance or related field. Minimum 3 years of professional broadcast experience, including studio and transmitter installation and maintenance, and studio operations. Minimum 3 years professional experience with computer-based networked, and standalone, audio management systems.
