POSITION SUMMARY

The Sponsorship Video Producer is responsible for managing the creation, production and dissemination of on-air underwriting messaging and WPT program break material critical to the sustainability of WPT. Additionally, this position will work with development to identify other broadcast and non-broadcast video production work that supports and recognizes donors and supporters of WPT and Friends of WPT, including key advocacy and testimonial production. This includes producing, editing, graphic design, motion graphics, and other production skills. This position reports to the Manager of Corporate and Community Development and will be responsive to and work collaboratively with the Video Promotions Manager.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Consult with Corporate and Community Development, along with Video Promotions, Motion Graphics/Design and Traffic to design and produce on-air and digitally-based video and underwriting messages.
  2. Manage workflow from concept through completion, including initial concept, management of sponsor assets, video/audio editing, rendering, graphics, motion graphics and more.
  3. Collaborate with the larger development team to produce and edit proof-of-performance, testimonial and other special-purpose video designed for use with supporting or advocacy audiences.
  4. Work with Corporate Development, specifically the office coordinator, to develop and maintain best practices, production workflows and guidelines that will serve both sponsor needs and the capacity and guidelines of WPT.
  5. Operate offline and online editing software/hardware including the Adobe Suite on Mac and/or PC platforms.
  6. Work collaboratively as well as independently, utilizing excellent organizational and communication skills.Communicate production timelines and meet all project deadlines. Meet routinely with Corporate Development and Video Promotions Managers to share progress reports on projects and foster open communication within and across the unit.
  7. Work creatively, professionally and efficiently in a high-energy, deadline-based, client-focused environment.Work schedule may sometimes include evening and weekend assignments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work effectively and productively both independently and on a team to create turnkey production elements for diverse projects, accepting direction from a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project management including organization, communication, diplomacy and the ability to manage time and workflows with both internal and external partners.
  • Computer and technical skills including familiarity with non-linear editing, graphic design software including Photoshop, motion graphics and audio editing tools and more.
  • Creatively envision and articulate project design ideas.
  • Ability to effectively operate in a Mac and PC computer environment and sit for long periods of time.
  • Calm and resourceful responses when challenges occur, priorities shift or tight deadlines loom.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A combination of education and experience that includes 2 or more years of turnkey professional video production and editing experience.
  • Skilled in effectively using the Adobe Suite of software, including Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of how to use motion graphics software.
  • Ability to use video editing software, such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, or equivalent non-linear editing systems.
  • Strong design and typography skills.
  • Excellent, proven time-management and project management skills.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization, at multiple levels.
  • Flexibility to effectively manage priorities, multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work some evenings or weekends as necessary.  
  • A demonstrated sense of visual storytelling in editing and production.

NOT REQUIRED, BUT DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with promo or commercial spot production
  • Videography experience.
  • Audio recording skills.
  • A belief in the mission of public media.

SALARY

We expect to pay between $40,000-$48,000 with actual pay dependent upon experience and qualifications.  UW-Extension offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life insurance, pension plan, flexible spending accounts, employer paid training and development, generous paid vacation and sick leave.
