Outreach’s WPSU Penn State seeks an Administrative Support Assistant to perform a wide variety of administrative and office functions. This position provides primary administrative support to our Development and Membership departments and backup support to other WPSU departments. Typical work activities include, but are not limited to, management of the daily operations for the Directors of Business Support, Individual Giving and related staff, as well as processing of membership and underwriting gifts and pledges, monitoring development budgets, preparing financial reports and spreadsheets, assisting with special events, handling a wide range of confidential matters; coordinating the Director’s calendars and travel schedules; compilation and/or research of information; editing correspondence; responding to requests for information; and attending meetings. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with financial management systems is highly desired. Analytical and computer skills with specific proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel and database management is required. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized and a self-starter and should demonstrate outstanding customer service orientation, excellent oral and written communication skills, and sound analytical skills and judgment. In addition, the candidate must use a proactive approach to managing work and solving problems, quickly adapt to competing priorities and have the ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
