WPSU Penn State is seeking a Marketing Strategy Specialist (Digital Media Marketing Specialist) with a passion for public media and four or more years of experience in brand social media, digital marketing, and online audience engagement. This position reports to the Director of Marketing for WPSU and will work closely with staff representing events, membership, digital content, and creative/multimedia.
The primary duties of the Digital Media Marketing Specialist are to lead the development of WPSU’s social media growth strategy, coordinate a station-wide social media content calendar, review consumer information to develop digital engagement plans for WPSU programs and projects, articulate the marketing strategy to the creative team for content development, create and deploy day-to-day content to support membership growth goals and programming and events awareness, and provide status reports on marketing effectiveness. Experience with Google Analytics and Google Marketing Integration tools is a plus. The digital media marketing specialist may lead a project team and/or be involved in projects at a tactical level with producers and station leadership. Supervision of one or more undergraduate interns is also a possibility. The typical working hours are Monday through Friday. The flexibility to participate in live TV productions and events at night or on weekends two to three times a month is required. This job typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary is determined by experience and applicable knowledge and skills. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
