WUOT is an indispensable source of timely, accurate, in-depth information for our curious audience, and we’re searching for our next All Things Considered host/producer - someone who can provide consistently high-quality reporting and be an amiable companion for our afternoon drive-time listeners.
WUOT is located on the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, a great location for both work and play. The area is home to some notable institutions, such as the Tennessee Valley Authority (the nation’s largest publicly-owned power producer), Scripps Networks Interactive, and the Y-12 Nuclear Security Complex, to name a few. We are a stone’s throw away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is home to some picturesque (and sometimes challenging) hiking trails, lodging, and the attraction-rich Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. Knoxville has a burgeoning reputation in the culinary and music worlds and is home to the Nief-Norf and Big Ears festivals, attracting composers and performers from around the world.
A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in journalism, communications/broadcasting, or a related field. Three years’ experience in broadcast news production or hosting is required. Preferred qualifications include experience in public radio and familiarity with NPR’s ethical, narrative and production standards.
