Corporation for Public Broadcasting Awards $1.16 Million to Support Upper Midwest Regional Journalism Collaboration
Washington, D.C. (October 30, 2025) — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) today announced a grant of $1,156,279 to establish the Upper Midwest Newsroom, a regional journalism collaboration led by Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) with partners Prairie Public Broadcasting (North Dakota), South Dakota Public Broadcasting (SDPB), and Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR).
CPB Ensures the Music Plays On for Millions of Public Media Listeners Nationwide
Washington, D.C. (October 27, 2025) — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) announced today that it has reached agreements with all five major performing rights organizations (PROs) to ensure the continued performance of music across public media platforms.
These agreements—covering ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, the Harry Fox Agency, and Global Music Rights—reflect CPB’s continued stewardship of federal funding on behalf of local stations and the preservation of these important rights for public media through December 31, 2027.
Corporation for Public Broadcasting Awards Grant to Public Media Infrastructure for Public Radio Interconnection
WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 26, 2025) — The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) today announced a grant of up to $57.9 million over five years to Public Media Infrastructure (PMI), a new independent nonprofit entity formed by a coalition of leading public radio organizations, to sustain public radio distribution through 2030.

Corporation for Public Broadcasting Announces Final FY 2025 Community Service Grant Payments as Wind-Down Continues
WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 22, 2025) – The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) announced today that it will distribute the remaining $7.1 million in obligated Community Service Grant (CSG) funds to eligible local public radio and television stations. Unless new federal funding is appropriated to CPB, these payments will mark the final CSG payments to stations, ending the foundation of federal support that has sustained the operations of 1,500 local public media stations across the country.
