American Graduate Day 2017

This four-hour public television broadcast, which aired on October 14, 2017, focused on how adults, specifically mentors, empower students from kindergarten through college to stay on the path to graduation. The program emphasized the need for mentors beyond high school, and showed how they help students pursue a variety of post-secondary options, including two- and four-year colleges, skills-based certifications, vocational training and the military. WNET highlighted critical student subgroups experiencing graduation gaps in both urban and rural areas. As part of this project, other stations received Stories of Champions sub-grants to produce segments for the program.
