The Real Thing, the first Black British band ever to have a No. 1 record, dominated the international charts throughout the 1970s and 1980s with songs like You to Me Are Everything, Can’t Get By Without You, Can You Feel the Force?, and Children of the Ghetto. But beneath their success, the four working class boys from one of Liverpool's toughest neighborhoods fought racism at home and abroad.
