This grant supports production of a four-hour docuseries, hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr., on the historical context and traditions behind gospel music and preaching within the African American culture. The program is a follow-up to Gates' docuseries The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song. The program premieres in Fall 2023.
