Family Ingredients (Season 1)

This series of half-hour shows, punctuated with local produce updates and healthy inspirations, is spent with a family or individual as they prepare for a meal. Among those featured is chef Ed Kenney, who explores poi and its main ingredient, kalo; and Valerie Kanashiro, who traces the cultural connection between Native Hawaiians and the Wisconsin Ojibwe tribe through her mother's recipe for fiddlehead fern soup; the key ingredient, hoio, is found in both Hawaii and Wisconsin.
