Keystone Crossroads LJC - Year 3

This one-year grant provides a third year of support for the Keystone Crossroads Local Journalism Collaboration (LJC), a multimedia reporting collaborative of five public media organizations focused on the challenges facing cities in decline in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Through audio, video and multimedia content, Keystone Crossroads explores a wide range of issues including aging infrastructure, immigration, housing, pensions, unemployment, workforce development, waterways and transportation. Highly rated by outside evaluations, its content has been heard nationally on NPR, American Public Media's Marketplace and seen on the PBS NewsHour. Keystone Crossroads held seven forums to engage communities around the state and is increasing engagement via the Hearken tool, which involves the audience in story generation by allowing them to submit questions or vote on questions they would like to see investigated. The project partners are also expanding on the foundation of collaboration to leverage additional support. WHYY (Philadelphia) is the lead station, and the partner stations are WQED and WESA FM (Pittsburgh), WPSU (Central Pennsylvania) and WITF (Harrisburg).
