National Black Programming Consortium (2016)

This grant provided funding to the National Black Programming Consortium (NBPC) to continue its operations and to support the creation of multimedia content by, for and of interest to the black community for national distribution on public media (e.g., PBS and WORLD Channel) in FY 2016. Funding was also used to strengthen partnerships within the black community, to expand the impact of NBPC content in that community and in the broader public media audience, and to nurture diverse creative talent within public media. The NBPC works with other members of the National Minority Consortia (NMC) to maximize the use of CPB funds both in the creation of content and in NMC operations. The NBPC is one of the five national minority consortia funded by CPB to assist in meeting the needs of the unserved and underserved audiences.
