In Performance at the White House: Smithsonian Salutes Ray Charles

This one-hour primetime special celebrates one of the most prolific musical minds of our time, Ray Charles. The evening, presented by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, was taped in the White House East Room on February 24, 2016. Musical guests paying tribute: Yolanda Adams, Leon Bridges, Andra Day, Anthony Hamilton, Brittany Howard, Demi Lovato, Sam Moore, Jussie Smollett, The Band Perry and Usher. WETA created web-exclusive video content to promote the program via social media such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, PBS.org, and through key music and entertainment blogs, and collaborated closely with PBS to create a viral and interactive presence online. The show streamed online on PBS.org, and in segments by performer, which could be shared and embedded on social media platforms.
