Regional Journalism Collaborations: Great Lakes RJC

The Great Lakes Regional Journalism Collaboration (RJC) comprises joint licensees in upstate New York and Ohio to provide in-depth multi-platform reporting on issues pertaining to the region, including the challenges faced by states managing a shared resource, the region's changing demographics and its Native American communities. The reporting is enhanced by commissioned content from the more than 60 public radio and television stations in the region, which also have access to Great Lakes content and expand the distribution strategy beyond the RJC station partners. Great Lakes RJC content is distributed on broadcast, web, and social media platforms, and produced for broadcast and digital distribution by national producers. CPB seeks to increase the capacity of public radio and television stations to create high-quality original and enterprise journalism by supporting RJCs that will establish reporting partnerships between multiple station newsrooms in a state or region.
