StoryCorps MobileBooth Tour 2016 - 2017

StoryCorps collects and preserves compelling oral histories of everyday Americans. This one-year MobileBooth tour visited 10 cities, partnering with KRWG (Las Cruces, NM); Texas Public Radio (San Antonio, TX); WPLN (Nashville, TN); WAMU (Washington, DC); WYPR (Baltimore, MD); Rhode Island Public Radio (Providence, RI); Vermont Public Radio (Burlington, VT); WBFO/WNED (Buffalo, NY); WESA/WYEP (Pittsburgh, PA); and South Carolina Public Radio (Columbia, SC). StoryCorps edited selected stories from 1,250 recorded interviews and produced 50 segments for broadcast weekly on NPR's Morning Edition and online. StoryCorps provided partner stations with customized packages of local interview content for use in local programming and worked with Native Public Media, Koahnic Broadcast Corporation and the Latino Public Radio Consortium to share content with Native American and Latino radio stations. All interviews are archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. StoryCorps also made the interviews available to other national repositories such as the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture and the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection at the University of Texas at Austin.
