American Graduate Receives Nonprofit PR Awards Nod

The CPB-funded American Graduate initiative received Honorable Mention at the 2016 PR News Nonprofit PR Awards for its branding/rebranding work in leveraging public media to address the nation's dropout crisis. In just 18 months, American Graduate raised $15 million toward educating the public about the issue and engaging communities to address it.


American Graduate: Let’s Make it Happen is public media’s long-term commitment to supporting community-based solutions to the nation’s dropout crisis. With CPB support, more than 130 public radio and television stations have joined forces with over 1,500 partners and at-risk schools across 48 states. Public media plays a significant role building individual activity, community capacity and national awareness. Since American Graduate launched in 2011, the country’s high school graduation rate has reached an all-time high of 82.3 percent in 2014.
