Classical KING is seeking an Announcer/Producer hybrid position to support the Chief Content Officer for radio and digital strategy for a growing organization located in new facilities in the heart of the City of Seattle. Classical KING has a strong commitment to diversity demonstrated by:

Job Summary:

Classical KING has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Announcer/Producer. This exciting hybrid position allows you to work both as a producer supporting our local broadcast shows, and as an announcer. As an announcer, you will work on all aspects of live or automated board shifts. As a producer, you’ll produce digital and broadcast audio content for Classical KING programs. This job may be right for you if you thrive when working closely with multiple teams, have technical and editing experience, and are skilled at providing honest feedback. This role is also expected to act to promote equity and inclusion and demonstrate cultural competency.

Basic Functions:

Perform all aspects of live or automated board shift, including announcing/hosting on-air shifts on Classical KING 98.1 FM. Produce digital and broadcast audio content for Classical KING programs and provide backup production support for other content teams as assigned.

Serve as an announcer and board operator for assigned shifts.

This is a hybrid position that includes serving as an announcer and producer who supports local content teams as needed.

This position requires in-person work at the Classical KING station in Seattle, Washington.

Job Details:

• Provide production work for live on-air shows or other programs as assigned, including research, pre-interviews, script writing and mixes.
• Produce, plan, write, edit and voice break content during shift both live and recorded for automation;
• Provide technical and production support tasks as assigned, including board operation, post-production and publishing across platforms/software.
• Develop and write online posts and produce broadcast excerpts of program content;
• Participate in station digital initiatives for script writing and video content for Classical KING's online presence.
• Assist with Public Radio Program Distribution system using Content Depot, PRX, in conjunction with Zetta, and Music Master
• Backs up other shifts as needed.
• Perform other occasional on-air work including on-air fundraising.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervision:

The position reports to the Chief Content Officer.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree in communications or music and five years of professional broadcast, podcast, or other on-air experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Requires knowledge of professional broadcast and journalistic standards and practices.
• Strong knowledge of classical music and a passion for the art form are required.
• Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
• Experience with broadcast automation software (Zetta), database software (Music Master), Microsoft Suite, Office 365, Asana, Adobe Audition, and cloud storage systems a plus.

• Hourly Rage: $34.23 - $40.87
