KOTO Radio, a noncommercial, non-underwritten community radio station in the beautiful San Juan mountains of Southwest Colorado is hiring a part-time reporter. This person will contribute to daily news coverage and public affairs programming and will focus primarily on covering news in rural communities in the greater Telluride region. The responsibilities of this position include pitching news stories, pursuing news tips and leads, writing scripts and producing content for both on-air and online platforms. Journalism background or experience covering community news is preferred. Experience with Audacity software is a plus. This position is approximately 24 hours per week with regular trips to KOTO’s main studio in Telluride but will be based in one of the rural coverage communities. Pay range is $20-23/hour, depending on experience. Lots of perks! Applications accepted on a rolling basis. Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable with mountain driving conditions.
