Meet the Helpers

Meet The Helpers is a multiplatform project that introduces children to important community “helpers,” such as 911 operators, firefighters, and police officers, and helps families prepare for emergencies. WUCF is producing additional video content and providing small grants to eight stations for local events. In addition, WUCF is working with experts in early childhood education and crisis communications to study the impact public media can have on children's emergency preparedness, including the impact on children's mental health. WUCF also produced Helpers content to communicate with young children and families about the pandemic, including messages about hygiene and mental well-being.
