NOVA Science and Society: Increasing Audience Engagement through National-Local Collaboration

This grant supports NOVA's pilot and Year 1 of a three-year project to develop and test scalable models of digital content creation with local stations. NOVA shares digital science content production strategies with five station partners focusing on stories that fall at the intersection of science and society. They are producing three one-hour documentaries airing between 2021 and 2023, as well as educational resources that explain the connection between science and society topics and STEM disciplinary concepts. The five Year 1 stations are: WHRO Norfolk, WKAR Lansing, KPBS San Diego, Rocky Mountain PBS, and netNebraska.
