Job Description:

WVUA 23 is seeking a Multimedia Journalist/Reporter. We are looking for an experienced, imaginative storyteller who can take a routine story and make viewers care about it. This position is primarily responsible for gathering, writing, and reporting news, as well as shooting and editing video. Position is also required to go live in the field with a TVU. Producing and anchoring opportunities are available for the right person. Candidate must be a team player, willing to work flexible hours and can produce content on deadline.  Strong, professional digital and social media skills are a must. The individual must be a good communicator, work well with others, and utilize feedback from management. The ideal candidate would have at least two years of experience and a Broadcast Communications/Journalism degree.

WVUA23 is a commercial television station located in a $17 million-dollar state-of-the-art Digital Media Center located in Bryant-Denny Stadium.  The University of Alabama is one of only two universities in the nation with a commercial TV station. We are also home to a nationally recognized public radio station and a public TV production unit. This position offers excellent health insurance, as well as retirement benefits.
