2017 Radio Community Service Grant Program Open to New Applicants

CPB is accepting applications from noncommercial public radio stations to enter the CPB Community Service Grant Program (Program).

Consultant for Editorial Leadership Meeting

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting ("CPB") seeks a consultant ("Consultant") to facilitate a first-ever meeting of local/regional editorial leaders ("Editorial Leadership Meeting") to drive the momentum of collaboration to the next level: building a neural network of public media journalism. The Consultant must be a facilitator with significant experience facilitating large groups of 30 or more managerial-level participants with a wide range of differing views.

FY2016 Radio Station Collaboration Program

The Radio Station Collaboration Program ("SCP") is designed to support Community Service Grant ("CSG") recipients that have entered into collaborative or consolidation agreements with other CSG recipients to significantly increase the recipient's public service.

2016 Radio Community Service Grant Program Open to New Applicants

Successful applicants will be noncommercial public radio stations that provide significant public service programming to their communities. Stations selected to enter the Community Service Grant (CSG) program during CPB's FY2016 will need to meet all of the criteria outlined in the FY2015 Radio General Provisions and Eligibility Criteria (General Provisions).

Regional Journalism Collaborations

CPB seeks to increase the capacity of public radio and television stations to create high-quality original and enterprise journalism by supporting Regional Journalism Collaborations ("RJCs") that will establish reporting partnerships between multiple station newsrooms in a state or region. Each RJC should be driven by a focused editorial strategy that is of common interest to the communities served by the RJCs and that will result in more original and enterprise journalism and more "news of distinction" in identified topic areas ("Editorial Strategy"). The objectives of the RJCs are to leverage public media's network of local stations to provide stronger local news service to the public media audience and to increase the flow of locally-produced content of national interest to the signature national programs. An additional objective of the RJCs is to expand the diversity of public media's journalism workforce and coverage to reflect the racial and ethnic diversity and range of perspectives throughout America.

FY2015 Radio Station Collaboration Program

The Radio Station Collaboration Program ("SCP") is designed to support Community Service Grant recipients that have entered into collaborative or consolidation agreements with other CSG recipients to significantly increase the recipient's public service.

National Producer Local Station Partnerships for Education Reporting

CPB wants to support and enhance the capacity of public media to create high quality multimedia journalism on important topics in education. Therefore, CPB is seeking grant proposals from national producers working with local stations to create innovative original reporting that highlights the challenges and solutions found in American communities as they provide education in the 21st century. In particular, CPB wishes to support national/local partnerships in the creation of content that aligns with CPB's American Graduate: Let's Make It Happen! initiative, which addresses the high school dropout crisis in our country.

2014 Radio Community Service Grant Program Open to New Applicants

Successful applicants will be noncommercial public radio stations that provide significant public service programming to their communities. Stations selected to enter the Community Service Grant (CSG) program during CPB's FY2013 will need to meet all of the criteria outlined in the FY2013 Radio General Provisions and Eligibility Criteria (General Provisions).

DIVERSE PERSPECTIVES: Enhancing the Diversity, Capacity and Quality of Local and National News

CPB seeks to support the efforts of small groups of news-oriented public radio stations working collaboratively to produce original reporting around important topics, known as "beats" or "content verticals." The two-year grants are intended to support station-based journalism that will increase the range of perspectives heard locally, regionally, and nationally, by adding more points of view from across the country, and expand the conversation on important topics. Each Partnership will need to work closely with national editors at NPR, PRI and APM to contribute original reporting on their chosen "beat" to the national newsmagazine programs.
